Ashby - Barbara L. Haraldson Norgren, 52, of Ashby, died at her home on October 12, 2004, surrounded by her family.
She was born December 9, 1951 to Ed and LaVonne Haraldson of Ashby. They were residents of Thief River Falls for 20 years. She was baptized and confirmed at Trinity Lutheran Church in Ashby. She graduated from Detroit Lakes High School in 1969. After graduation, she attended medical assistants training in Milwaukee, Wis.
In 1987, she graduated from Anoka-Ramsey Community College with a degree in nursing. She worked at the Pelican Lake Health Care Center in Ashby and for the past 16 years at Lake Region Hospital in Fergus Falls, in the ICU and ER.
She married Corvin Norgren in 1972. She was an active member of the First Presbyterian Church in Ashby, where she served as church organist and worked with the women of the church. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary and active with the Relay for Life.
She is survived by her husband; daughters, Amy (Corey) Johnson of Ashby and Kelly (Patrick) Galvin of Minneapolis; one son, Kirk Olson of Cortez, Colo.; her mother and stepfather, LaVonne Harldson and Larry Greenquist of Fergus Falls; sisters, Becky (Lauris) Woessner of Ottertail and Laura (Keith) Denbrook of Erhard; Mark Haraldson of Salt Lake City, Utah; six grandchildren; and a father-in-law, Russ (Opal) Norgren of Palmyia, Mo.
She was preceded in death by her father, Ed Harldson; and her mother-in-law, Lucille Norgren.
Funeral services were held in Ashby. LaVonne and her late husband lived in Thief River Falls from 1971 to 1991.
