 Thief River Falls - Raymond  A. Anderson, 87, died at Oakland Park Nursing Home in Thief River Falls on Tuesday, November 2, 2004.
  Funeral services were held on Saturday, November 6 at First Lutheran Church in Karlstad, with Pastor Gary Halverson officiating.Casket bearers included Raymond’s grandchildren, Jason Peterson, Kelly Peterson    Kirsten Poggenklass, Alison Suko,   Bjorn Berg, Reid Berg, Mollie Anderson, Katie Anderson, Margaret Anderson and Will Bierwirth. Interment was held at East Emmaus Cemetery in Lake Bronson.
 Raymond Adolph Anderson, the son of the late Gustav and Hildur (Peterson) Anderson, was born on March 16, 1917, in Jupiter Township of Kittson Co., near Halma. He attended school and grew to manhood there, and was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith. On June 30, 1942, Raymond was united in marriage to Evelyn Rasmussen at Hallock, and the couple resided in the Halma and Karlstad communities. He operated a locker plant in Kennedy for a few years, and worked in road construction over the years, residing in Bemidji, Osseo, and other Minnesota communities. Since 2000, the couple made their home in Thief River Falls. Ray loved music and playing any kind of games. He loved watching the Minnesota twins and visiting with family and friends. He was especially proud of his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
   He is survived by his wife, Evelyn;  two sons, Bryce of Minneapolis and Terry (Jean) of Grand Junction, Colo.;  two daughters, Linda (Neil) Peterson of Thief River Falls and Carole (Ron) Berg of New Richmond, Wis.;  10 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren;  one brother, Merle (Delores) of St. Paul.; two sisters, Anna Dagen of St. Anthony and Ivaydell Hefner of Richfield; three brothers-in-law, Darrold (Martha) Rasmussen of Lindstrom,  Earl (Arlene) Rasmussen of Fort Worth, Texas, and Clair (Sandy) Rasmussen of Harriman, Tenn.;  in addition to several nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
 Raymond was preceded in death by his parents; one son in infancy; two brothers, Wilmer and Rodney, and one sister, Isabelle.
