Waxahachie, Texas - Del Seefeldt, 86, died Thursday at his Waxahachie, Texas, residence.
A Celebration of Life service was held on Monday, January 23, at the Pat Boze Memorial Chapel of the funeral home with Pastor Joel Berthelsen officiating. Casket bearers included Derek Seefeldt, Rob Rolland, Gregory Misenhimer, Bert Torres, Trey Knox and Brian Alvey. Honorary casket bearers included Robert Brown, Marvin Borders and Dean Gray. Interment followed at the Waxahachie City Cemetery.
He was born in Fairbanks, Wis., to Paul William and Florence (Alft) Seefeldt. Del was a past member of the Masonic Lodge and was a former police commissioner in Thief River Falls. He spent his career of 37 years as a general manager of a fuel oil and propane company. In addition, during World War II, he served as a ship builder in Bremerton, Wash. He was a member of the Hope Lutheran Church in Cedar Hill, Texas.
His survivors include his wife, Gerry Seefeldt of Waxahachie; son and daughter-in-law, Dale and Charlotte Seefeldt of Atlanta, Ga..; daughter and son-in-law, Jodi and Rob Rolland of San Clemente, Calif..; brother, Richard Seefeldt of Wittenburg, Wis..; sisters, Marjorie Beckwith of Appleton, Wis., Elaine Kruger of Eland, Wis., and Diane Ploeger of Wassau, Wis.; and three grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Doris; daughter, Doreen; his parents; sister, Grace Mathie; and brother, Ray Seefeldt.
