 Warren - Sanford Bagaas, 88, died Monday, January 16, 2006 at the Good Samaritan Center in Warren, with his family by his side.
  Funeral services were held on Friday, January 20, at the Newfolden Evangelical Free Church in Newfolden. Military honors were provided by the Argyle American Legion Post 353. Interment was held at Alma Lutheran Cemetery in rural Argyle.
 Sanford Bagaas was born on January 2, 1918 in Argyle, the son of Knud and Marie (Middlebo) Bagaas. He was a life long resident of the rural Argyle area. Sanford attended country school in Wanger Township. He was in the U.S. Army during World War II from September 24, 1942 to October 13, 1945 and he served in the European, African and Middle Eastern Theaters. After his discharge, he returned to rural Argyle where he farmed.
 On Nov. 24, 1967, he was united in marriage to Doris Hogberg Anderson at the Alma Lutheran Church and they made their home in rural Argyle. Sanford and Doris wintered in Bibleville, Texas for 14 years. In 1985, they did short term missions work in Brussels, Belgium. They moved to Warren on September 5, 2000.
 He was a member of the Argyle American Legion and the Gideon’s. Sanford enjoyed fishing, woodworking and visiting with his many friends but he especially enjoyed spending time with his family. Sanford and Doris enjoyed spending time at and sharing with others their trailer on Lake of the Woods, making many fun and lasting memories.
 Left to mourn his passing are his wife, Doris; three children, LaVonne (Ron) Anderson of Karlstad, Gary (Debbie) Anderson of Argyle and Gail (Linda) Anderson of Nisswa, nine grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; two sisters, Myrtle Ritko and Agnes Klopp, both of Warren,  brother-in-law, Peder Moe of Warren, sister-in-law, Gladys Bagaas of Thief River Falls and many nieces and nephews.
 He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Einar, Harold and Jens; and sister, Gerda Moe.   A00003B2006JA25
