 Thief River Falls - Elna J. Hanson, 79, died Tuesday, January 17, 2006 at Northwest Medical Center, Thief River Falls.
  Funeral services were held on Saturday, January 21, at the Evangelical Free Church in Thief River Falls, with Rev. Jim Howard officiating. Casket bearers included  Gerry Ode, Jeffrey Wittak, Bruce Olson, Jule Hanson, Craig Hanson, Gale Hanson and Ronald Chalmers. Honorary casket bearers included Keith Smith, Rory Ode, Lance Anderson, Barret Hoosier  and Roger Kjellberg. Interment was held at Greenwood Cemetery, Strathcona.
 Elna J. Anderson was born November 3, 1926 in Greenbush,   the daughter of Martin D. and Mabel (Wold) Anderson. She was baptized February 2, 1927 at Bethania Lutheran Church and confirmed in the Lutheran faith. She attended Haug Leo Elementary School, Badger High School and Roseau Teacher’s Training. Elna taught school from 1945-1948 in Pine Creek, Lancaster, and Strathcona. Elna was also a training specialist for developmentally disabled adults in Thief River Falls.
  Elna was united in marriage June 12, 1946 to Evan Kenneth Hanson. She enjoyed crocheting, quilt making, lefse making, and reading. She loved to visit with friends and spend time with her family.
  She has been a member of the Evangelical Free Church in Thief River Falls.
  Elna is survived by seven children, Elvana M. Erickson of Lynnwood, Wash., Kent J. Hanson of Moorhead, Lorna J. Hanson of Spartanburg, S.C., Kevan L. (Sharon) Hanson of  Andover,  Kimberly A. (Jimmy) Farned of Houston, Texas, Layden M. (Kristy) Hanson of  Thief River Falls and Lynelle Hanson of Duluth; six grandchildren; one brother, Alden Anderson of Badger; three sisters, Dorothy Hoosier of Badger, Irene (Newell) Ode of Badger and Gretchen Kjellberg of Rogers; and several nieces and nephews.
  She was preceded in death by her husband Evan; one son; one granddaughter; her parents; and two sisters. A00003B2006JA25
