Proctor - Rueben L. Kolden, 80, of Proctor and formerly of Newfolden, died on Monday, Dec. 19, 2005.
A memorial service was held on Thursday, Dec. 29, 2005 in Duluth.
He was born on March 21, 1925 to Thorval and Palma (Johnson) Kolden. He was raised in the Newfolden area. Rueben served in the Army during World War II in Italy. He lived for a short time in the Seattle, Wash., area after the war. He was a long time employee and retiree of the DM&IR. Rueben was united in marriage to Ethel Strom Robinson of Proctor in 1955.
Rueben's wife, Ethel, has since passed away on January 8, 2006.
He is survived by daughters, Joanne (Thomas) Blazejak and Kathleen (Virgil) Fox of Duluth; sons, Gerald Robinson of Duluth, James (Loan) of Apple Valley, and Daniel (Tracy) of Duluth; six grandchildren; and one great-granddaughter; sisters, Janet (Bill) Doxrude of Stevens Point, Wis., Bernice Ruble of Austin, and
Lyla (Al) Burnett of Puyallup, Wash.; brothers, Kendell (Vickie) of Thief River Falls, Roger of St. Cloud, Jim (Connie) of Shoreview, Orval (Makia) of Lake Forest, Ill., and Earl (Marge) of Big Spring, Texas.
