Thompson, N.D. - Kim L. Almen Miller, 43, of Thompson, N.D., died Friday, December 30, 2005 unexpectedly of natural causes in the home of her daughter.
Mass of Christian Burial was held Tuesday, January 3 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Red Lake Falls. Interment was held at the St. Vincent De Paul Cemetery in Plummer.
Kimberly LaRayne Almen was born March 9, 1962, the daughter of Harlan G. and Shirley (Dammen-Ackerlan) Almen in Grafton, N.D. Her family moved to Red Lake Falls, where she was raised and attended school. She graduated from High School in 1980 from Plummer. She married Daniel Miller on January 1, 1980 in Red Lake Falls. They lived in St. Hilaire, then moved to East Grand Forks, in 1992 where she worked at the St. Hilaire Co-op elevator. She attended and received degrees from the McConnell Travel School and the Music Tech. both of Minneapolis.
Kim was a true lover of life and believer in dreams. She enjoyed a variety of interests, excelling in each and every endeavor. One of her favorite hobbies was crafts. Kim was very creative and artistic. She was currently making beautiful dream catchers. She was very much loved by those of us who knew her and she let us each know she loved us as well. A beloved daughter, sister, mother and friend who will be greatly missed.
Kim is survived by her daughters, Kathryn (Evan) Litchy of Thompson, N.D., Stacey of Grand Forks, N.D.; a son, Kenneth of Erskine; her father, Harlan G. Almen of Red Lake Falls; brothers, Harlan W. Almen “Chip” of Elko, Nev., and Steven L. Almen of Thief River Falls.
She was preceded in death by an infant son, Nicholas Daniel Miller; her mother, Shirley and an infant sister, Shirlan.
