Thief River Falls - Marjorie Corliss, 80, died Tuesday, December 27, 2005 at Northwest Medical Center, CNC, Thief River Falls.
Memorial service will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, January 7, at United Methodist Church, Thief River Falls, with Pastor Phil Schmidt officiating.
Marjorie May Schofield was born March 22, 1925 in Bemidji, to Roy D. Schofield and Theresa May (Shereden) Schofield. In her younger years she was a lifeguard in Bemidji. She graduated from Bemidji High School in 1943 and graduated from Bemidji State Teacher’s College (now Bemidji State University), where she taught science from the 1940’s to 1990’s in Minnesota, Michigan and Pennsylvania. She received her masters degree from Wayne State University, Detroit, Mich.
Marjorie was united in marriage to William “Bill” Sherman Corliss Sr., October 30, 1948 in Minneapolis.
Marjorie is survived by children, William (LuAnn) Corliss Jr., of Tucson, Ariz., Curtis (Georgia) Corliss of Phoenix, Ariz., and Christopher (Marsha) Corliss of Williams, Ariz.; two grandchildren; sisters, Francis (Betty) of Minneapolis and Mary of Mississippi.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William; and her parents. A00003B2006JA04
