Thief River Falls - Harold H. Anderson, 89, died Thursday, December 22, 2005 at Northwest Medical Center in Thief River Falls.
A memorial service was held Monday, December 26, at Johnson Funeral Service in Thief River Falls, with Father Tim McGee officiating. Interment was held at St. Bernard’s Cemetery in Thief River Falls.
Harold H. Anderson was born July 27, 1916 in Crookston, the son of Carl and Ida (Olson) Anderson. He was baptized and confirmed at Zion Lutheran Church in Thief River Falls. He graduated from Lincoln High School, Thief River Falls.
He served his country in the United States Navy from 1944-46, and was stationed in Guam.
Harold was united in marriage to Catherine Rose Langevin.
Harold was an employee for the city of Thief River Falls, serving in the capacity as superintendent of water department for 44 years.
He held membership in International War Veterans Association, American Legion, Eagles, Elks and VFW Post 2793, Thief River Falls, where he served as post commander and also as district commander from 1963 to 1964. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and traveling.
Harold is survived by his wife, Catherine; sons, Roger (Palma) of Thief River Falls, Robert “Bob” of Thief River Falls, Bruce (Kris) of Minneapolis, Scott of Wausau, Wis., and Kathy (Rod) Rein of Wausau, Wis.; 12 grandchildren 13 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandson.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and a brother, Art Anderson.
