Detroit Lakes - Gloria Puffer, 72, formerly of Brooks, died Wednesday, December 14, 2005 at SCCI Hospital in Fargo, N.D.
Mass of Christian Burial was held Monday, December 19, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Brooks, with Father Tim Bushy presiding. Casket bearers included Frank Femling, Chad Burrell, Ryan Femling, Mike Femling, Ric Thibert and Kim Thibert. Interment was held at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery in Brooks.
Gloria D. Thibert was born July 6, 1933 in Red Lake County, the daughter of Joseph and Rose (Fournier) Tibert. She was raised and attended school in Brooks. Gloria graduated from Pershing High School in Plummer in 1951. After graduation she moved to Minneapolis where she spent most of her life. She was employed at LaMaur/Dow Brands, from which she retired.
Gloria enjoyed traveling and visiting with family, crossword puzzles, reading and cross stitch. Her family was very important in her life.
Gloria is survived by children, Cindy (Frank) Femling of Hastings, Roger (Samie) Puffer of Lakeland, Fla., Michael (Liza) Puffer of Oak Park, and Terri Lynn (Chad) Burrell of Virginia Beach, Va.; 12 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; brothers, Roy (Joyce) Thibert of Mentor, Parnell (Madeline) Thibert of Dixon, Ill.; sisters, Annette (Everill) Mercil of Leesberg, Fla., Jeane (Frank) Marinaro of Grand Rapids and Bonnie Abbott of St. Cloud; special nephew, Ric (Sandee) of Hitterdahl and special friends, Barb and Gloria; and many other family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents and an infant son, Harold.
