Thief River Falls - Ethel Hyatt, 93, died Sunday, December 11, 2005 at Oakland Park Nursing Home in Thief River Falls.
Funeral services will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday, December 14 (today), at Trinity Lutheran Church in Thief River Fals, with Rev. Arlen Hermodson officiating. Interment will be held at Folden Cemetery.
Visitaiton will be held two hours prior to services at the church.
Ethel Harriet Johnson was born August 22, 1912, in Spencer, the daughter of Hjalmer and Emma (Stokke) Johnson. She was baptized and confirmed into the Lutheran faith and graduated from Holt High School in 1930. During World War II, Ethel worked for the Yakima Tent and Awning in Yakima, Wash., except during apple picking season, when she picked apples. She moved to Duluth and worked at Minnesota Woolen, as a seamstress for 22 years, then moved to Thief River Falls, where she had since resided.
On May 15, 1985, Ethel was united in marriage to Gene Hyatt in Yakima, Wash.
She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Thief River Falls. She enjoyed sewing, reading and crossword puzzles.
Ethel is survived by her son, Joel (Jenny) Vattendahl of South Milwaukee, Wis.; three grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; brother-in-law, Duane Green of Holt and sister-in-law, Viola Johnson of Holt; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; sisters, Eunice Hagen, Elioise Gilbert and Yvonne Green; and brother, Francis Johnson. A00003B2005DC14
