 McIntosh - Mae Roed, 90, of McIntosh, died on Thursday, December 8, 2005, at the Pioneer Memorial Care Center in Erskine. 
  Funeral services were held Monday December 12 at Mount Carmel Free Lutheran Church in McIntosh, with the Rev. Dale Mellgren officiating. Honorary casket bearers will be all of the staff at Pioneer Memorial Care Center and Mae’s neighbors and friends. Active casket bearers will be Mae’s grandsons. Interment was held at St. John’s Cemetery, rural McIntosh.   
 Mae Christianson Roed was born May 30, 1915, to parents Christian and Olava Larson Christianson near Erie (north of Gully). She was baptized in the Lutheran faith and confirmed in the Ecklund Lutheran Church. She attended Little Oak Country School through the eighth grade. She boarded in McIntosh and graduated from McIntosh High School on May 31, 1935.
 Mae was united in marriage to Edgar Roed on November 16, 1940, at the Nazareth Parsonage, north of Trail, by Sigurd Fladmark.  She had since resided in the McIntosh area. She was a full-time homemaker assisting her husband, Edgar, with the farming while raising six children.
 She started working at the McIntosh Nursing Home in her mid-40s and continued for approximately 28 years, retiring in 1987.  After retiring, she entertained several of her grandchildren and their friends after school, earning the reputation of “Grandma Mae.”  She was a woman of great hospitality and a caring heart, often encouraging her family with the admonition of “Remember, Jesus loves you.”
 She was a charter member of Mt. Carmel Lutheran Church and WMF. 
 Survivors include five of her children:  Olive Ferden of Lake Park; Ellen (Paul) Kay of Cartersville, Ga., Earl (Dianne) and Ronald (Elaine) of McIntosh; Donna (Gregory) Bruce of Fosston;  15 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; and four great-great grandchildren; two sisters-in-law, Gertrude Christianson and Ruth Roed, and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
 She was preceded in death by her husband, Edgar; their daughter, Dianne; sons-in-law, Kermit Ferden and Edward Fletcher; granddaughter-in-law Michelle Roed; and great-granddaughter, April Mae Roed; also her parents and all her siblings.
