Springfield, Ore. - Raymond A. Quam, 69, formerly of Thief River Falls, died Monday, November 14, 2005 of kidney failure.
A memorial service was held on November 18, at Jasper Christian Church in Springfield, Ore., with Pastor David Snare officiating. Interment was held at West Lawn Memorial Park in Eugene, Ore.
Raymond Quam was born July 25, 1936, in Thief River Falls, the son of Oscar and Leafie Graff Quam. He married Kathleen “Kathy” Friedman in 1996 in Jasper.
After his mother died when he was 5, he was raised by his aunt and uncle, Dorothy and Lewis Quam of Goodridge. He completed high school and served in the U.S. Navy.
Quam had lived in the Eugene-Springfield area since the early 1950s and previously lived in Seattle and Las Vegas. He worked as a heavy equipment mechanic for Myrno & Sons in Eugene. He belonged to the Harley Owners Group.
Survivors include his wife; a son, Jason of Junction City, Ore.; and a daugter, Bonnie Voss of Eugene, Ore.
