Grygla - Carl Rue, 91, died Monday, November 28, 2005 at CNC Unit of Northwest Medical Center, Thief River Falls.
Funeral service were held Monday, December 5, at Grace Lutheran Church in Grygla, with Rev. Joseph Abrahamson officiating. Interment was held at St. Petri Cemetery near Grygla.
Carl Rue was born July 22, 1914 in Grygla, the son of Simon T. and Clara (Thorsen) Rue. He was baptized and confirmed into the Lutheran faith. He attended country school.
On December 6, 1948, Carl was united in marriage to Hilda (Trontwedt) Holton at the Mavie, MN parsonage. He farmed with brother, Ernest on the family farm and also worked in the woods and was a great woodsman.
Carl was a member of St. Petri Lutheran Church, rural Grygla. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, auction sales, antique tractors and working with old gasoline engines.
Carl is survived by wife, Hilda, Thief River Falls; step-son, Bruce (Carol) Holton of Joplin, Mo., and step-daughter, Jo Ann (Gary) Waterman of Santa de Lewis, Mexico; seven step-grandchildren; six step-great-grandchildren; sister, Cora Rue of Grygla; brother, Ernest Rue of Grygla; sister-in-law, Evelyn Rue of Hillsboro, N.D.; several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by parents, sister, Selma Rue and brother Helmer Rue.
