Red Wing - Marguerite “Peg” Geraldine Quale, 82, of Red Wing, formerly of Thief River Falls, died on Wednesday, October 19, 2005 at Fairview Red Wing Medical Center.
A memorial service was held on Saturday, Oct. 22, at United Lutheran Church in Red Wing, with Rev. Steve Timm officiating. Interment was held at Riverside Cemetery in Fargo, N.D. Honorary casket bearers included grandsons, Daniel, Joshua and Brock Mosher.
Marguerite was born on October 24, 1922, in Thief River Falls, to Clarence Silas and Caroline (Aspelund) Simonson. She was a 1940 graduate of Thief River Falls High School and received her bachelor of science degree in elementary education from Moorhead State University. She taught at Clara Barton Elementary School in Fargo, N.D.
She married Robert Quale on November 29, 1946, in Thief River Falls. He died in 1971. She continued teaching until retiring in 1981, and moving to Fremont, Calif. She moved to Red Wing in 1991. She was a member of United Lutheran Church and enjoyed playing bridge, reading and solving crossword puzzles.
Survivors include her daughter, Janet (Tome) Mosher of Wabasha; her son, Robert (Jill) Quale of Claymont, Del.; four grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; three sisters, Annette (Carl) Colombo of Paradise, Calif., Betty Munford of Fremont, Calif, and Shirley (Al) Gavazza of La Quinta, Calif.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; one grandson; one brother, Erik Simonson and one sister, Harriet Coons. A00003B2005OT26
