Roseau - Nikki Donarski, 23, of Roseau, died on Friday, October 14 at the Roseau Area Hospital.
Mass of Christian Burial was held Thursday, October 20, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church of Roseau. Father Bob LaPlante and Decon C. J. Donarski, officiated. Casket Bearers were Christopher, Donald and Daniel Donarksi, Russ and Mardy Anderson and David Foss. Honorary Pallbearers were the staff from Lutheran Social Services, the Focus Corp. staff and the Roseau School special education teachers and paraprofessionals. Interment was held at Pauli Cemetery, rural Greenbush, with Deacon C. J. Donarski leading the Committal prayers.
Nikki was born January 13, 1982 in Seoul, Korea. Nicole Andrea Kim Donarski arrived in the U.S. at 4 months of age on May 13, 1982 to parents C. J. and Toni (Anderson) Donarski. She lived with her parents in the military and attended schools in Hawaii, California, Louisiana, North Dakota & Minnesota.
She graduated from Roseau High School in 2003. Her hobbies included playing Dominoes, working puzzles, especially word seek puzzles, playing card games, socializing and shopping. She worked at the Roseau School, The New Image Beauty Salon and Focus Corp. in Roseau. She was diagnosed with cancer at the age of 10 and has been dealing with the disease since then.
Her smiling face brought joy to everyone who knew her. Survivors include her mother, Toni Donarski of Greenbush; father, C.J. Donarski of Oceanside, Calif.; one sister, Melanie (Rick) Reed of Belleville, Ill., two brothers, Christopher of Bemidji, and Aaron (Amy) of Greenbush; four nieces and nephews; one grandmother, Maryann Donarski of Fisher; step-grandmother, Mildred Syverson Anderson of Kasson; several uncles, aunts and other relatives and countless friends.
She was preceded in death by three grandparents, Conrad Donarski and Joe D. and Dorothy Anderson; an uncle and aunt, Kenneth and Jo Ann Beebe and an aunt, Sandy Donarski.
