Thief River Falls - Rosa A. Folland, 81, died on Thursday, Sept. 29, at the C.N.C. unit of Northwest Medical Center in Thief River Falls
Funeral services were held on Tuesday, October 4, at St. Johns Lutheran Church in Thief River Falls, with Pastor Don Kirchner officiating. Interment was held at Eidsvold Cemetery in Halma.
Rosa Anne Helena Folland was born on June 27, 1924 in Mayville Township, Wisconsin to John and Bertha (Wempner) Daellenbach. She lived on a farm near Dorchester, Wis., until her family sold the farm and moved to Abbottsford, Wis. She was baptized in the Lutheran faith on July 27, 1924 and confirmed on August 21, 1938 at the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Curtiss, Wis., by Pastor M. Goetsch.
Following her high school graduation she attended and completed Normal School and taught school for a short period of time. Rosa then went on to work at numerous jobs including Campells soup, Allis Chalmers, DMV of Wisconsin, and Rayovac batteries. She was united in marriage to Arthur Folland in Milwaukee, Wis., on October 22, 1962 and the two made their home in Tolley, N.D., until 1996.
She and Arthur moved to Souix Falls, S.D., where they lived for two years before moving to Thief River Falls. Arthur died on March 8, 2003 and Rosa continued to make her home in Thief River Falls.
Rosa is survived by three sons, Paul Reyes of Alaska, John Folland of Thief River Falls and Christian Folland of Miami Beach, Fla..; two daughters, Lisa Folland of Fargo, N.D. and Iris (Joe) Emery of Garretson, S.D. Five grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, 2 brothers: Conrad and Emil, and 1 sister: Martha Haack A00003B2005OT05
