Thief River Falls - Jeanette Hamerlinck, 79 died Sunday, October 02, 2005 at her residence in Thief River Falls.
A memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, October 5 (today), at Trinity Lutheran Church, Thief River Falls, with Rev. Arlen Hermodson and Pastor Gerry Eggers officiating. Interment will be held at 1 p.m. on Thursday, October 6, at Fort Snelling National Cemetery, Minneapolis.
Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the church, Wednesday.
Jeanette Ione Branigan was born April 20, 1926, in a log cabin at Itasca State Park, the daughter of Harry T. and Clara (Teigland) Branigan. She was baptized June 6, 1926 at Bear Creek School, Clearwater County and confirmed June 23, 1940 at Alida Lutheran Church, Alida. She graduated from Bagley High School and from the Cadet Nurse Corps program at Fairview Hospital, Minneapolis, as a registered nurse.
On April 8, 1950, Jeanette was united in marriage to Francis “Frank” Hamerlinck in Bemidji. She worked at hospitals in Bagley, Bemidji and Thief River Falls. She also taught in the Licensed Practical Nurse program at Thief River Falls AVTI.
Jeanette was active in Trinity Lutheran Church and her community. She enjoyed reading and spending time with her grandchildren.
Survivors include her husband, Francis “Frank” of Thief River Falls; four children, Barbara (Dan) Johnson of Brainerd, Michael (Rose) Hamerlinck of St. Paul, Mark (Jan) Hamerlinck of Savage and Jeffrey (Julie) Hamerlinck of Laramie, Wyo.; six grandchildren; a sister-in-law, Connie Branigan of Mahtomedi; and numerous nephews, nieces and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Ruth in infancy; and a brother, Howard Branigan.
