 Greenbush - Josephine W. Kukowski, 93, died on Wednesday, October 6, 2004 at the Greenbush Community Nursing Home.
  Funeral services were held on Saturday, October 9, at Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church of Greenbush with Father Don Braukmann officiating. Interment was held at Blessed Sacrament cemetery of Greenbush.
 Josephine W. Kukowski, the daughter of August and Teckla (Hamernick) Mrozek, was born August 10, 1911 in Morrison County near Flensburg. She grew up and attended school in the Flensburg area and was baptized and confirmed in the Catholic faith.  Following school, she worked in the Morrison County area for a number of years before moving to the Greenbush area. 
 She was united in marriage to August A. Kukowski on October 17, 1934 in Flensburg, and they made their home and farmed in Barto Twp., near Greenbush until moving into Greenbush in 1973. August passed away September 9, 1975, and Josephine continued to make her home in Greenbush and worked at the  Greenbush Hospital until her retirement at the age of 70. 
 Josephine was a lifetime member of St. Aloysius Catholic Church of Leo, member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church of Greenbush, Holy Rosary Society of Leo, St. Ann’s Sodality of Greenbush and Blessed Sacrament Ladies Guild. She very much enjoyed her family, quilting, handiwork, berry and mushroom picking, and always grew a big beautiful garden.
 She is survived by eight sons, Adolph (Carroll) Kukowski of Bay Lake, Edwin (Carol) of Newfolden,   Norman (Florence) of Osceola, Wis., Marshall (Carol) of Greenbush, Rapheal (Mary) of Fridley,  Romain (Diana) of Lakeville, Dennis (Maureen) of Little Falls, and Jim (Marilyn) of Strathcona; two daughters, Henryka Evans and Sharon (David) Foss both of Greenbush; 28 grandchildren; 51 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren; one sister, Marcy Kalinowski of Perham; three sister-in-laws, Frances Cison of Richfield, Susan Mrozek of St. Paul and Monica Mrozek of Little Falls; and many nieces, nephews and other relatives.  
 She was preceded in death by her husband; one son, Wilfred; one son-in-law, Bruce Evans; 13 brothers and sisters. A00003B2004OT13
