Oklee - Ruth Ann (Brown) Walton, 42 of Oklee, died on Wednesday, August 24, 2005 at the North Country Regional Hospital in Bemidji.
Funeral services were held on Sunday, August 28, at the Little Rock Community Center in Red Lake. Active Casketbearers were Joe Thunder, William Aaron Brown, Peter James Walton Jr., Peter Allen Walton Sr., David Lee Clinton Layton Jr., Peter Oscar Bohn, Michael James Melikan Sr., and Bob James Benais.
She was born on October 3, 1962, in Red Lake, the daughter of Virginia Esthe (Nelson) and George William Brown Sr. She was raised and educated in Red Lake until the age of 11. She spent the rest of her childhood growing up in Gully and Fosston. She graduated from Fosston High School in 1981. She attended the Technical College in Thief River Falls studying hair styling. She also attended the Northwest Technical College in Bemidji studying business administration. Ruth worked for the Seven Clans Casino in Thief River Falls. She enjoyed surfing online, shopping, playing bingo, watching movies at home and at the theater. She loved spending time with her family and spoiling her grandson.
She is survived by her daughter, Amanda Walton of Red Lake; son, Peter Walton Jr. of Oklee; brother, William Aaron Brown of Gonvick; sister, Barbara Ann Brown of Gonvick; one grandson; and step father, Peter Oscar Bohn of Gonvick.
She was preceded in death by: her parents; brothers, George James Brown Jr., James William Brown, sister Karen Rose Brown and her grandmother, Gertrude Marie Morgan.
Honorary Casketbearers will be: All of Ruth’s friends and family.
