  Strathcona - Randy Lorenson was one day short of his 75th birthday when he died at his rural Strathcona home on Thursday, August 11, 2005 surrounded by his wife and all nine children.
   Funeral Services were held on Tuesday, August 16 at Grace Evangelical Church in Strathcona.  Pastor Robert Ludwig, officiated.  Casket Bearers included Arlen Vacura, Marvin Ness, Charles Ullman, Peter Guzman, Dennis Wahl and Robert Lorenson.   Interment was held at the Lorenson Family Cemetery in rural Strathcona.
  Randall “Randy” Wayne Lorenson, the son of Rasmus and Esther (Strandberg) Lorenson, was born August 12, 1930 in Huss Township, Roseau County, where he grew up and attended the Sunnyside Country School.  He lived his entire life in Huss Township and very near to the original Lorenson Homestead, which has been in the family for 100 years. 
 He was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He married Deloris Jackson on January 24, 1952 in Greenbush.  They celebrated their 53rd Anniversary in January. Randy was known for his auction expertise, conservation ditching, farming, caterpillar repair, gravel hauling and coffee stops at Paradise in Strathcona. 
 Randy was a member of Grace Evangelical Church in Strathcona. He served on the Grass Lake School Board the Farm Bureau Board and the Grace Evangelical Church Board.   He enjoyed playing guitar and singing.
   Survivors include a wife, Deloris and nine children, Vicky Lorenson of Strathcona, RaeAnn (Dennis) Wahl of Greenbush,  Roger (Ardys) of Greenbush,  LaMarr (Gwen) of Greenbush, Douglas (Noreen) of Strathcona,  Danny (Debbie) of Wannaska,  Pamela (Charles) Ullman of Salol,  Merrilee (Peter) Guzman of Grand Forks, N.D. and Marlo (Terry) of Greenbush.; 19 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; three brothers, Edward of the Karlstad  Nursing Home, Melvin (Jane) of Greenbush and Eldor (Charmaine) of Strathcona; one sister, Lila (Kennis) Anderson of Greenbush; and several nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.
 He was preceded in death by his parents; one grandson; one brother, Clifford and his wife Dorothy Lorenson; two sisters, Delores Stromlund and her husband Edwin, Lillian and her husbands, Edward Vacura Jr. and Melvin Koehnlein.  Sister-in-law, Violet Lorenson and brother-in-law, Ronald Jackson.
