Dayton - Rodney Lynn Knutson, 50, of Dayton and formerly of Roseau, died on Friday, August 5, 2005 as a result of a car accident south of Wannaska.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, August 12, at Roseau Free Lutheran Church in Roseau, with a visitation one hour prior to the service. Visitation will be Thursday from 5 to 7 p.m. with a family service at 7 p.m. at the Helgeson Funeral Chapel in Roseau. Interment will be held at Greenwood Cemetery in Thief River Falls.
He was born on August 8, 1954 in Roseau, to Clarence and Jessie (Hall) Knutson.
He was baptized and confirmed at Moe Lutheran Church. He graduated from Roseau High School in 1973. Throughout high school he worked for several farmers in the area.
He served in the U.S. Army from 1973 to 1976. After serving in the Army, he went to work for Hydra-Mac Inc., Anderson Power and Equipment, Coca-Cola Bottling Company, Fridge-Aire, Johansen Bus Company driving bus, and most recently employed by Lano Equipment in Anoka.
He loved to drive his four wheeler with his friends and family, doing mechanical work, boating, fishing and camping.
Survivors include his daughter, Kaley Knutson of Grand Forks, N.D.; mother, Jessie Knutson of Roseau; brothers, Wayne (Mary Jo) Knutson of Warroad, Jeff (Shari) Knutson of Thief River Falls, Dan (Stephanie) Knutson of Glenwood; sister, Janice Sharbonno of Clinton, Pa.; one grandson; several nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews; special friend, Tes Sweeney of Dayton; and god daughter, Bonnie Knutson.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents; his father, Clarence Knutson; brother, Keith Knutson; infant daughter, Misty Dawn Knuston; and one nephew.
