 Thief River Falls - Edward Vilven, 45, died Friday, July 22, 2005, at Altru Hospital in Grand Forks, N.D.
 Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, July 26 at the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception in Crookston. Interment was in Calvary Cemetery in Crookston.
 Edward David Vilven was born May 29, 1960, in Crookston, the son of Milo and Mildred (Cota) Vilven. He was baptized and confirmed at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Euclid.
 Edward graduated from Warren High School in 1978. After graduating, he worked at American Crystal in Crookston for approximately three years before he was forced to quit due to illness. He then moved to Thief River Falls. Edward’s greatest joy was traveling to the farm and visiting with family and neighbors. He will be sadly missed and fondly remembered by his family and friends.
 Edward is survived by his mother, Mildred Vilven of Crookston; two sisters, Linda (Gene) Shomshak of St. Michael and Diane (Jon) Mackowick of Crookston; a brother, Scott (Susan) Vilven of Crookston; two nephews; and other relatives.
 Edward was preceded in death by his father, Milo, on Aug. 18, 2000.
