Winthrop Harbor, Ill. - Kenneth Hillyer, 58, of Winthrop Harbor, Ill., died on Friday, July 8, 2005 at his home.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, July 30, at 11 a.m. at the First Congregational United Church of Christ in Waukegan, Ill., with Rev. Dr. Tom Barth officiating.
Kenneth was born November 13, 1946, in Thief River Falls and worked as a machinist for various companies in Lake County, Ill., for about 35 years. He was an avid outdoorsman and he enjoyed fishing, hunting and golf.
Suriviors include his wife of 31 years, Claudia (Haynes); son, Matthew Hillyer of Winthrop Harbor, Ill.; stepsons, William Kirchmeyer of Chicago, Ill., and Joseph (Karin) Kirchmeyer of McHenry, Ill.; three step-grandchildren; seven sisters, Carol Ann Jackson of Arizona, Margaret (Bob) Hickson of Arizona, Susan Hovey of Wisconsin, Shirley (David) Trickle of Minnesota, Kathryn Hahn of Minnesota, Martha ( Stuart) Dahl of Virginia and Delores (Steve) Michelson of South Dakota; three brothers, Hoyt of California, James and Bill, both of Minnesota; a brother-in-law, Glenn Haynes III of Waukegan, Ill.: and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his father and mother Edson and Nona Hillyer.
