Hallock - Anne Erickson, 97, of Hallock, died at the Kittson Memorial Healthcare Center in Hallock on Wednesday, June 29, 2005.
Funeral services were held on Tuesday, July 5, at the Sion Lutheran Church in Lancaster. Interment was held at the Riverview Memorial Garden Cemetery in Lancaster.
Anne Caroline was born on the family farm in Richardville Township to August and Karolina Swenson on June 1, 1908. She was baptized in Sikar Lutheran Church and was confirmed at Sion Lutheran Church, Lancaster on May 20, 1923. She attended the North Star School near Lancaster.
On October 27, 1937, she was united in marriage to Arthur Erickson of Thompson Township, Hallock. The couple farmed until Art’s death in 1962. They were members of Saron Lutheran Church and later Sion Lutheran Church. In 1961, Anne began work as a nurses aid in the Kittson Memorial Nursing Home, Hallock. She worked until 1973 and continued to work part time until 1978.
In 1976, Anne moved to the town of Hallock and resided there until entering the nursing home in 2001.
Survivors included two daughters, Janice Younggren of Hallock and Eleanor Erickson of Thief River Falls; two grandsons; and two great-granddaughters.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her brothers, Algot, Carl,Martin, Oscar, Emil and sister, Nora in December 2004. She was also preceded in death by her son-in-law, Harley Younggren.
