 Thief River Falls - Fredric Lloyd Howick “Fred”, 57, died on Sunday, July 3, 2005, at the CNC unit of the Northwest Medical Center in Thief River Falls. 
  Memorial services were held on Monday, July 11, at Trinity Lutheran Church in Thief River Falls, with Rev. Arlen Hermodson officiating. Honorary casket bearers included nieces and nephews; Ericco friends and hunting friends. Burial of cremains will follow in the Park Ridge Cemetery, Norden Township, Pennington County. 
  Fred Lloyd Howick was born on May 29, 1948, to Lloyd Clifford and Elizabeth “Bunny” (Dahlen) Howick in Thief River Falls. Fred attended school in Thief River Falls and graduated from Lincoln High School in 1968. He completed the AVTI welding program in 1971.  Fred farmed with his Dad until Dad’s retirement in 1994. Fred worked one summer at Nelson Implements and has worked at Errico Tool in Viking since then. 
 He enjoyed going to work at Ericco and being part of the action and has many friends at Ericco Tool. He missed his work and friends when he was sick and looked forward to going back when he was strong enough. Fred was very sociable and friendly, making friends wherever he went.  He loved to visit with people especially at Cenex and Petro Pumper.  Many people recognized Fred coming down the road with his dog, Samantha, in his Chevy pickup. 
  Fred loved to deer hunt and looked forward to that every year and had many good hunting party friends. He also enjoyed snowmobiling with friends and fishing, especially ice fishing. 
  Fred loved life and lived each day to its fullest. He worked hard every day, and enjoyed his evening drives around the countryside. He was always ready to lend a helping hand and to tell a story or two. He will be deeply missed by his family and friends. 
  Fred is survived by one brother Bruce (Claudette) Howick, Billings, Mont.; one sister, Sara (Jim) Blix of Thief River Falls; several Howick nieces and nephews and Blix nephews; and many aunts, uncles and cousins. 
  He was preceded in death by his parents, grandparents, several aunts, uncles, and cousins.
