Greenbush - Levi Langaas, 12, died on Friday, June 17, 2005 at the Roseau Area Hospital after a traffic accident.
Funeral Services were held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, June 22 in the School Gymnasium in Greenbush, with Pastor Bryce Fellbaum from Bethel Lutheran Church officiating. Carolyn Eeg was the pianist and vocal music was provided by Marilyn Grafstrom. Casket Bearers were Jamey and Michael Brandon, Kurt Smith, Adam Langaas, Nick Vacura and Ryan Shirley. Honorary Pallbearers were Donnie Byfuglien, Ron Careme, Tom Hoverson, Gene Ladoucer and all of his classmates. Interment was held at Bethlehem Lutheran Cemetery in rural Greenbush.
Levi John Langaas, was born January 5, 1993 in Roseau, to parents Lowell and Rebecca (Gonshorowski) Langaas. He was baptized at Bethlehem Lutheran Church of rural Greenbush, with Gary and Donna Langaas as his Godparents. He had just recently completed his First Communion Classes at Bethel Lutheran Church in Greenbush.
Levi attended the Greenbush-Middle River School and had just completed the fifth grade at the Greenbush campus. Levi enjoyed dirt bike riding, skateboarding and BMX biking. He was involved in the Gator Youth Wrestling Program and in Baseball. He especially enjoyed the car races at the Greenbush Race Park.
Survivors include his parents, Lowell and Rebecca Langaas; brother, Cody Langaas; and sister, Taylor Langaas; all of Greenbush; his grandparents, Kenneth and Loretta Langaas of Greenbush and Mavis Gonshorowski of Greenbush; several uncles and aunts, and many cousins and other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Gerald Gonshorowski in 2004; and all of his great-grandparents, including two of his very special great-grandmothers—Katie Langaas and Lillian Koehnlein.
