Hallock - Otto Seng, 87, died at the Kittson Memorial Healthcare Center in Hallock, on Saturday morning, June 18, 2005.
Funeral services were held on Tuesday, June 21, at Collins Funeral Chapel in Karlstad, with Mr. Arnold Kaml officiating. Casket bearers included all of Otto’s Grandchildren.Interment was held at Lundeby Cemetery in Karlstad.
Otto Seng, the son of the late Samuael and Emelie (Hergett) Seng, was born on July 12, 1917, in Danube. As a child, he moved with his family to Kittson County, where he attended school and grew to manhood. He was employed by Ted Kimbrough in Strandquist and by Norman Bogestad Farms.
On March 4, 1945, Otto was united in marriage to Doris Hodge in Halma. Following their marriage, they made their home in Omak, Wash., for a year, then returned to the Karlstad community where they had since resided.
Otto was employed as the projectionist at the Karlstad Theater for 20 years, and as both a carpenter and doing concrete work for Leonard Thompson Construction.
In later years, he owned and operated Otto’s Fixit Shop in Karlstad. He had been in failing health for the past several months, and passed away at the Kittson Memorial Healthcare Center in Hallock, on Saturday morning, June 18, 2005, at the age of 87 years, 11 months, and six days.
He is survived by his wife, Doris; two sons, Wayne (Mary), of Grafton, N.D. and Steven (Laurie), of Red Lake Falls; one daughter, Betty (Tony) Blaze of Hallock; 12 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; in addition to several nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
Otto was preceded in death by his parents; five brothers, Walter, Herman, Oscar, Victor and David; and one sister, Emma.
