Badger - Albert Spilde, 63, resident of the Prairie Community Services Lanewood Home in Badger, formerly of Thief River Falls, died on Monday, June 9, 2014 at LifeCare Medical Center in Roseau.
A Funeral Service was held Friday June 13, at Johnson Funeral Service, Thief River Falls. Interment was held at Eidsvold Cemetery in Halma.
Albert Lee Spilde, the son of the late Arthur and Cora (Flaten) Spilde, was born on June 4, 1951, in Greenbush. He attended school and grew to manhood in the Halma community and was baptized and confirmed at the Eidsvold Lutheran Church in Halma.
Following school Albert lived on the farm near Halma and in Thief River Falls. Most recently Albert has resided in Badger.
Albert was a hard-working man who enjoyed his days at the DAC and ODC in Thief River Falls as well as the ODC in Roseau. He loved to socialize with the staff and visitors in his home. Albert liked to indulge in candy – especially peppermints. He loved animals, especially his beloved dog, Nancy.
Albert is survived by his sister, Shirley (Richard) Hermanson of Drayton, N.D.; several nieces and nephews; the kind and nurturing caregivers who assisted him over the years, and many friends.
