Gladstone, Ore. - Dorothy H. Senum Wehus passed away on Friday, March 7, 2014 at Somerset Assisted Living in Gladstone, just short of her 89th birthday.
A celebration of life will be held at Canby Senior Center in Canby, Ore., on May 3, from 1-3 p.m.
Dorothy Hattie Senum Wehus was born in Thief River Falls on March 11, 1925. She graduated High School in the spring of 1942. In March 1972, she married Ace (Ainsworth) Wehus. Shortly after being married they bought a traveling trailer, eventually ending up in Canby, Ore., where they lived for 39 years.
Dorothy graduated from Clackamas Community College in the spring of 1983 with an Associate of Arts degree. Music was her life. She was a member of Old Time Fiddlers and Fiddlesticks. Many people enjoyed her yodeling, singing and guitar playing. She was a member of the Canby Evangelical Church.
She is survived by her sisters Violet Bonk, of Estacada, Tootsie (Alsace) Potter, of Gladstone and Mae Senum, of Oregon City; sister-in-laws Sandy Senum in Chandler, Ariz., Donna Harbott of Thief River Falls; and many nieces and nephews; plus her best friend Lexie, her Boston terrier.
She was preceded in death by her husband Ace, parents Gunder and Hattie Senum, brothers Willie, Gunder Jr., and Edwin Senum.
