La Crosse, Wis. - Anthony “Tony” W. Lofstrom, 48, died Sunday, Feb. 23, 2014, at his La Crosse, Wis., home.
Funeral services were held March 4 in La Crosse. Burial will be held in the Folden Cemetery, Newfolden, on Saturday, March 29 at 3 p.m., with a lunch following the burial at the Newfolden Evangelical Free Church. Johnson Funeral Home in Thief River Falls is tending to the burial. In lieu of flowers, memorials to Salvation Army are preferred to be used in Tony’s memory.
Tony was born Nov. 8, 1965, in Ironwood Mich., to Shirley Lokstad and Delmar A.O. Lofstrom. He moved to St. Paul in 1984, graduating from Highland Park High School. His main employment was roofing houses. He and his friend Raquel Larson had a daughter named Heather Marie Larson on Dec. 5, 1990.
Tony is survived by his daughter Heather (coming home from Afghanistan), and her half-sister Nicole; his mother Shirley Schoenfeld of Holmen Wis.; his father, Delmar of Pine City; and step-mother Donna (Burton) Lofstrom. Also surviving him are his sister Karen (Dave) DeSchepper of West Salem Wis., his stepbrother and sisters Douglas Schoenfeld, Kerry Stokke, Kathy Hill, Linda Wright; stepbrother Allen Burton; many nieces and nephews; his uncle and aunt David and Judy Lokstad; his aunt Lolly Benish and uncle Hjalmer Lofstrom; his great aunt/godparent Audrey Maki; several first cousins and friends.
Tony was preceded in death by his stepfather Gene Schoenfeld; his grandparents Hans and Alice Lokstad and Hjalmer and Frances Lofstrom; one nephew; and great uncle/godparent Elworth Maki.
Tony will be sorely missed. His family is comforted by knowing he’s at peace with God and that he believed in Jesus Christ as his personal Savior.
