Plummer - Helen LaFayette, 82, of Plummer, died on Friday, Feb. 14, 2014 at Pioneer Memorial Care Center in Erskine.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, Feb. 19, 2014 at 10:30 a.m. at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Plummer, with Rev. Jonathan Dodson officiating. Casket bearers include Perry Duden, John Paradis, Kevin Tvedt, Shane Freyholtz, Arnold Schmitz, and Bill Paradis. Interment will be held at Emardville Cemetery near Plummer. Visitation will be held one hour prior to services at the church on Wednesday.
Helen Winnifer Payne was born Oct. 2, 1931 at St. Joseph’s Hospital, Dickenson, N.D., the daughter of Leo H. and May Barbara (Rieche) Payne.
On Oct. 15, 1975, Helen was united in marriage to Loren J. LaFayette at Bethany Lutheran Church in Red Lake Falls. She lived on a farm all her life. She worked on a farm and worked as a teacher’s aide at the Plummer School.
She is survived by her sisters-in-law, Joyce Cykendall, Violet Page, and Bernice LaFayette; brother-in-law, Dan Whitaker; and several nieces and nephews.
Helen is preceded in death by husband Loren, parents, sisters: Buelah (Berger) Sundan and Muriel Krieger, sister-in-law: Lucille Meyer and Gladys Whitaker; brothers-in-law: Robert Krieger, Alpen Meyer, Howard LaFayette, Jim Cykendall, and Donald Page, niece Leona Kappedal.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to the Immanuel Lutheran Church or Emardville Cemetery fund.
