Thief River Falls - Mona Johnson, 79, Thief River Falls, died on Saturday, Jan. 25, 2014 at her home in Thief River Falls.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 29, at Zion Lutheran Church in Thief River Falls with Rev. Ale Tulu Officiating. Burial will be held at Greenwood Cemetery in Thief River Falls.
Visitation will be held from 9 to 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 29, 2014 at Zion Lutheran Church in Thief River Falls.
Mona M. Johnson was born May 2, 1934 daughter of the late James Elmer and Margaret (Goetz ) Cutt at Hallock. She was raised and attended school in the Hallock area. On July 1, 1952 she was united in marriage to Sherman Johnson at Zion Lutheran Church in Thief River Falls, by Reverend Peterson. The couple made their home in Thief River Falls, Mona worked at Ekeren Drug and later she was bookkeeper for Johnson Drywall.
She enjoyed fishing on Lake Of The Woods, hunting deer, raising dogs and having them as pets. She was a member of Zion Lutheran Church in Thief River Falls and was active in the ladies circle there.
Mona is survived by her husband of 61 years, Sherman Johnson of Thief River Falls; daughter Debra K. (Robert) Holmgren of Corpus Christi, Texas; grandchildren Aaron D. Erickson of Thief River Falls, and Andrew J. (Dionne) Erickson of Red Lake; great-grandchildren David Erickson, Christopher Erickson, Oliver Erickson, Sherman Erickson and Amos Erickson; one uncle Amos Cutt, cousins Duane Cutt, Diane Cutt and Cheryl Eilers: sisters-in-law Esther Johnson of Thief River Falls,  LaVonne Johnson of Strandquist, and Judy Johnson of Thief River Falls; along with several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, mother and father-in-law Andrew and Lucille Johnson, Tina Johnson; brothers-in-law Glenn Johnson, Dudley Johnson, Richard Johnson, Duane Brown and Gary Johnson; sisters-in-law Betty Johnson, Linda Brown and Shelva Johnson.
