Bremerton, Wash. - Esther S. Smith, 89, of Bremerton, Wash., and formerly of Thief River Falls, died on May 10, 2005 at Belmont Terrace Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Bremerton, from injuries from a fall and complications from surgery.
No services have been planned.
Esther S. Smith was born in Pennington County, to Karen Klementon. She graduated from Lincoln High School in Thief River Falls in 1934 and later attended college.
On July 13, 1940, she married Hilbert F. Smith in Thief River Falls.
She worked for 16 years as an assistant treasurer of the Carpenter’s Credit Union in Miles City, Mont., and as office manager of a hardware and automotive store in northwestern Minnesota.
She was a member of the North Kitsap Senior Center in Pulsbo. Before macular degeneration took her eye sight, she enjoyed cooking, baking, fresh water fishing and playing cards.
She was preceded in death by two sisters, Lenore and Mabel. She is survived by her husband.
