Oklee - Marvin Clarence Peters of Oklee, age 63, died Wednesday, Dec. 18, 2013 at the Freedom Living Center in Oklee.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, Dec. 26, 2013 at Faith Lutheran Church in Goodridge, at 7 p.m., with Visitation one hour prior at the church. Pastor Robert Dahlen will be presiding. Casket bearers included all of Marvin’s nephews. Interment will take place at 10 a.m. Friday, Dec. 27 at Jerusalem Cemetery rural Goodridge.
Marvin was born on May 14, 1950 in Thief River Falls, the son of Clarence Peters and Ruth A (Zinter). He was baptized at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Grygla. Marvin graduated from Goodridge High School in 1970. He then served in the United States Army stationed in various locations in the United States and Vietnam (1970-1977).
Marvin worked at the Northern Pride Turkey Processing Plant for 17 years. He also worked on the family farm.
Some of his favorite activities were puzzles, card playing and spending time in the woods cutting wood.
Marvin is survived by his sisters, Edythe (Edy and Dick) Vavrichek of Rogers, and Karen (Arnie) Njaa of Wannaska; his brother, Galen (Jodi) Peters Goodridge; nieces and nephews, Michelle, Daryl, Jason, Wendy, LaRae, Nathan, Christopher, Chelsey, Zachary, Joshua, Dustin; and many great- nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents Clarence and Ruth; his grandparents Herman and Ida Zinter; and William and Josephine Peters.
