Thief River Falls - Evelyn Engstrom , 92, of Thief River Falls, died Monday, Nov. 25, 2013 at Sanford Medical Center in Thief River Falls.
Funeral services were held on on Saturday, Nov. 30 at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Warren. Interment was held at Melo Lutheran Cemetery, Angus.
Evelyn Lois Morberg was born on March 25, 1921 near Oslo, the daughter of Emil and Mollie (Larson) Morberg.  She graduated from Oslo High School in 1937 and attended North Star Teachers College in Warren. She taught school at Four Corners School and for one year in North Dakota. Evelyn stayed with the Frank Hamrick family while teaching at Four Corners School.
On Sept. 15, 1943, she married William Engstrom.  They made their home in rural Angus, before moving to Thief River Falls in 1968.  Evelyn worked at Miller Oil in Warren and Arctic Enterprises in Thief River Falls. William died Sept. 22, 1999.
She was a member of Melo Lutheran Church in rural Angus.
Evelyn loved doing crafts, crocheting, making baby blankets, baking doughnuts and lefsa and doing anything she could to help others.
Left to mourn  her passing are son, Gary Engstrom of Thief River Falls; daughters, LaVonne (Bruce) Seaverson of Middle River, and Maureen (Chuck) Greentree of Thief River Falls; eight grandchildren; twenty-one great-grandchildren and sister, June Holmstrom of Thief River Falls.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William; grandson, Darren Seaverson; daughter-in-law, Violet Engstrom; brother, Marshall Morberg and sister, Iva Lamberson.
