King, Wis. - Stanton "Stan" Truman Nohre, 91, residing in King, Wis., died Sunday, Dec. 1, 2013 at 1:20 a.m. Stan was the son of Melvin and Inga Olson Nohre, born on July 3, 1922, in Thief River Falls.
He was the owner of Norco Insurance in Minneapolis then owner of The Dinner of The Month Club, which brought joy to many Supper Club owners and patrons throughout the Midwest. A World War II survivor with the U.S. Navy.
He had a love for cars, motor homes, aircraft, fishing Canadian waters and the Chantry Inlet on the Arctic Circle. The man could tell stories of his adventures which brought joy to the many he shared with – thousands from (places Stan lived) Guadalajara, Las Vegas, Texas, Colorado, North and South Dakota, Nebraska, Montana, Minnesota then near his son to rest in Wisconsin.
If you were the greeter at Wal-Mart or a CEO Stan took the time to change lives with his one-liners and his love for adventure. The best salesmen in the world sell themselves first - to many Stan was The Best Salesman in The World with little effort, because he couldn't wait to meet you.
Stan is survived by he daughter, (his favorite) Patricia Linderholm Krier of Eden Prairie, and her children, Tammy and Guy Linderholm; his son, Ron Nohre of De Pere, Wis., and his daughters, Katie and Allison Nohre. Brother, Harry (Lorena) Nohre of Fertile; sister, Fern Traverso of Prescott, Ariz.; and many nieces and nephews that he loved.
Stan was preceded in death by his brothers: Gordon, Billy, Enus and sister, Maxine Mead.
