Newfolden - Olga Hanson, 95, died Wednesday, Oct. 30, 2013 at her son’s residence in Newfolden.
Funeral services were held Thursday, Nov. 7 at Johnson Funeral Service, Thief River Falls.
Olga Olivia (Swanson) Hanson was born July 29, 1918 in Hilmar, Calif., the daughter of Nels and Emma (Erlandson) Swanson. She was baptized on March 2, 1919 and confirmed on May 22, 1932. In 1936 Olga graduated from Hilmar High School, Hilmar, Calif.
From 1936 until her marriage, Olga was a hairdresser in Oakland, Calif.
On April 4, 1940, Olga was united in marriage to Harold Hanson in Yuma, Ariz. They returned to their farm in rural Newfolden where she resided until her death.
Olga’s priorities were her grandchildren and her hobbies included knitting, crocheting and traveling.
Survivors include two sons: Dennis E. (Garnette) Hanson, Newfolden, and Wesley H. (Jeanette) Hanson, Oklahoma City, Okla.; eight grandchildren: Randy (Michelle) Hanson, Alan (Michelle) Hanson, Ryan (Holly) Stephenson, Chris (Andrea) Stephenson, Andriana Hanson, Britta Hanson, Krista (Phil) Singleton and Alicia (Tré) Clark; 10 great-grandchildren: Ashley Hanson, Karlee Hanson, Elynn Hanson, Keaton Stephenson, Blaine Stephenson, Haley Stephenson, Mia Narvaiz, Keiley Casterlin, Elias Clark and Silas Clark; one great-great-grandchild: Macie Young; two sisters: Marg Pearson, Hilmar, Calif., and Vi (Ken) Nelson, Turlock, Calif.; a sister-in-law: Beverly Swanson, Vancouver, Wash.; along with several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by husband, Harold in 1974; parents; a sister: Ag Cedarleaf; brother: Erland Swanson and brother-in-laws: Len Cedarleaf and Carl Pearson.
