Long Beach, Calif. - Hulda “Holly” Ulrich Craft Baxter, 86, of Long Beach Calif. and formerly of Red Lake Falls, died May 1, 2005 in Long Beach.
Graveside services will be held on Saturday, June 4, at 11 a.m. at Oak Grove Cemetery, with Reverend Frank Ehling officiating. Lunch will follow at St. John Lutheran Church in Red Lake Falls.
Holly Ulrich was born February 20, 1919 in River Township, Red Lake County, the daughter of Dorathea (Seeger) and Fred Ulrich Sr. She was baptized and confirmed at St. John Lutheran Church in Red Lake Falls. She attended rural grade school District 236J, Red Lake County, Oklee High School and St. Hilaire High School.
On October 27, 1936 Holly married Clarence Craft, the son of Eric and Christina Craft, in Wylie, by Rev. Paul Burgdorf. This marriage was blessed with a beautiful baby girl, Janice RaNae Craft on September 8, 1939. Clarence was injured in a packing plant accident in West Fargo and died December 26, 1939.
Holly married Larry Craft, son of Ernest Craft, on October 5, 1943 in Long Beach, Calif. This marriage was blessed with another beautiful baby girl, Carol Jean Craft on December 8, 1944. Larry died in a car accident September 7, 1969.
Holly married Bill Baxter. She worked in various jobs over the years. She lived at Lutheran Towers in Long Beach, Calif., for over 20 years and attended Our Savior Lutheran Church.
She is survived by her two daughters, Janice Sewell of Nevada City, Calif. and Carol Hesse of Long Beach, Calif.; three grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; one brother, Arthur Ulrich of Rancho Mirage, Calif. and many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Holly was preceded in death by her parents; her husbands; one great-grandchild; sisters, Marie Gieseke, Dorothy Lawin and Minnie Rawerts; and brothers Carl, Fritz, Ernest, John, Willie and Alvin Ulrich. A00003B2005JN01
