Minnetonka - Bernice Othilda Larson passed away Thursday, Aug. 15, 2013 at her home in Minnetonka.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, Aug. 23 at 11 a.m. at Johnson Funeral service in Thief River Falls, with Reverend Frank Ehling officiating. Casket bearers include Benji Kvasager, Derek Lee, Jared Lee, Trevor Lee, Ben Musburger and Michelle Janisch. Interment will be held at Clara Cemetery.
Visitation will be held one hour prior to services at the funeral home on Friday.
Bernice Othilda Larson was born April 14, 1926 in Red Lake County, daughter of the late Bennie and Olga (Kyllo) Mahla. She was raised near Plummer and graduated from Pershing High School in Plummer, in 1944. On Aug. 23, 1947 she was united in marriage to Jerome Gustav Larson at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Plummer.
The couple lived in Thief River Falls for a time, where she worked for Penny’s. They moved to Hopkins, where she worked at Dorholt Printing and was Financial Secretary at Faith Presbyterian Church in Hopkins for 31 years.
She enjoyed quilting, sewing and other sewing including embroidery work, crocheting and cake decorating. She loved her flowers and had a pot of flowers in every corner she could. She was a member of Gethsemane Lutheran Church in Hopkins.
Bernice is survived by her sisters Judith Johansen of Seattle, Wash., Gladys (Arnold) Narverud of Thief River Falls, and Lucille (Goodwin) Kvasager of Plummer; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband Jerome, daughter Kathy, Parents Bennie and Olga Mahla. A00003B2013AG21
