Thief River Falls - Mary Jane Gibson, 85, Thief River Falls, died on Saturday, July 13, 2013 at Sanford Medical Center in Thief River Falls.
Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, July 17 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Thief River Falls, with Rev. John Voelker Ph.D officiating. Casket bearers include Judy Gibson, Kristi Gibson, Robert Gibson, Jeremy Gibson, Justin Gibson and Brianna Hince. Interment will be held at Greenwood Cemetery in Thief River Falls.
Visitation will be held from 9 to 10 a.m. on Wednesday at Trinity Lutheran Church.
Mary Jane Olson was born on Feb. 15, 1928 in Thief River Falls, the daughter of John V. and Adele L. (Haugen) Olson. She was baptized and confirmed at Trinity Lutheran Church in Thief River Falls. She attended schools in Thief River Falls graduating from Lincoln High School in 1945.  Mary Jane then went on to graduate as a Registered Nurse from the University of Minnesota and then worked at Mercy Hospital in Thief River Falls for a short time.
On Jan. 2, 1949, Mary Jane was united in marriage to Stanley “Stan” Gibson at Trinity Lutheran Church in Thief River Falls. To this union, six children were born, James, Judy, Roger, Kent, Kristi and Robert.  The family made their home in Thief River Falls.
Mary Jane worked at Stan Gibson Realty for a number of years and started working at Digi-Key when there were 31 employees.  Mary Jane retired after twelve years of service to Digi-Key.
Mary Jane had a great love for her family and friends.  She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Thief River Falls where she was active.  She enjoyed researching family history, antiques, quilting, gardening and jigsaw puzzles.
Survivors include her loving children, Judy Gibson of Snohomish, Wash., Kristi Gibson of Rogers, Robert Gibson of Thief River Falls; eight grandchildren, Ryan, Kelly, Chrysi, Amy, Jeremy, Justin, Kaylee, Brianna; seven great-grandchildren, Alyssa, Haley, Jacob, Sydney, Sophie, Kendall, Zander; and many other relatives and friends.
She was preceded in death by three children, James, Roger and Kent; father of their children, Stan Gibson; fiancé, Audy Carlson; parents; and siblings, Burton, Louise, and William.
In Lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to Trinity Lutheran Church, 325 Horace Avenue N, Thief River Falls, in memory of Mary Jane Gibson.
