Thief River Falls - Reginal Bruggeman, 58, Thief River Falls, died Wednesday, June 12, 2013 at his residence, under the care of his wonderful family.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, June 18 at Zion Lutheran Church in Thief River Falls, with Rev. Ale Tulu and Rev. John Golv officiating. Interment was held at Greenwood Cemetery, Thief River Falls.
Reginal Lee Bruggeman was born Sept. 16, 1954 in Thief River Falls, the son of LeeRoy and Ferne (Jarshaw) Bruggeman. He was baptized in the Catholic faith and grew up in the Lutheran faith.
At the age of 17, Reggie joined the United States Army.
After his honorable discharge from the Army, Reggie was married to Debbie Jean Resech. Three beautiful children were born to this union.
On Sept. 11, 1999, Reggie was united in marriage to Tracee Dawn Joppru.
Reggie’s work career consisted of many trades including cooking, carpentry, cement finishing, and road construction for the past 10 years with Thygeson Construction.
Reggie’s most precious gift was his heart of gold. The day was never about Reggie, it was about the people he met. Reggie loved fishing, hunting, and making people smile.
Reginal is survived by his loving wife, Tracee of Thief River Falls; children, Kelly (Brent) Flaten of Forest Lake, Lisa (Jamie) Vait of Farmington, and John Randall Bruggeman of Lino Lakes; grandchildren, Joshua Bruggeman, Alyssa Bruggeman, Alanna Larson, Alexis Larson, Jack Flaten, Kaylie Curry, Connie Vait, and Debbie Vait; great-granddaughter, Brooklynn Lee Bruggeman; mother, Ferne Bruggeman of Thief River Falls; brothers and sisters, Debra “Slim” Bruggeman of Thief River Falls, Randall (Georgi) Bruggeman of Thief River Falls, Bonita (Mike Thygeson) Aaseby of Thief River Falls, Robert Bruggeman of Thief River Falls, Cynthia Bruggeman of Spring Lake Park; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Donald and Kyle Joppru of Thief River Falls; brother-in-law and their spouses, Wade and Camila Joppru and Noel and Traci Joppru all of Thief River Falls; several nieces, nephews, cousins, relatives, and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, LeeRoy Bruggeman; brother, Timothy Bruggeman; grandparents, Fred and Ermanie Bruggeman, and Alfred and Tilla Jarshaw; many uncles and aunts.
