 Crookston - Gladys Johnson, 86, died Thursday, May 19, 2005 at Villa St. Vincent Nursing Home in Crookston.
  Funeral services were held on Monday, May 23, at Oak Ridge Lutheran Church in rural Thief River Falls, with Rev. Luther Peterson officiating. Casket bearers included Gladys’ grandsons, Kevin Senum, Darin Kelly, Kory Kelly, Brian Kelly, Craig Hahn and Kyle Nelson. Honorary casket bearers included  Gladys’ granddaughters, Darcie Johnson, Tracey Sundeen and Karla McEvers. Interment was at Oak Ridge Cemetery.
 Gladys Jeanette Langaas was born June 17, 1918 in Emerado, N.D., the daughter of George and Amanda (Brateng) Langaas. She was baptized on September 22, 1918 in Emerado, N.D. At the age of 2, Gladys and family moved to Forest River, N.D. Later they moved to Thief River Falls, where the family lived in Norden and Numedal Townships. Gladys was confirmed at Oak Ridge Church, Thief River Falls. 
 On June 17, 1938, (Gladys’ birthday), she was united in marriage to Norval John Johnson in St. Hilaire. The couple made their home in Numedahl Township.  Gladys was a farm wife helping with all of the farming chores and home maker raising three daughters. She worked hard all her life.  In the late 1970s, the couple moved into Thief River Falls on Arnold Ave. They then moved to Skylite where they resided for 20 years.  Her husband Norval died March 3, 1993. Gladys was a resident of Villa St. Vincent Nursing Home, Crookston for the past 4 years.
  Gladys loved her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She enjoyed their visits.  She was a member of the Homemakers Club.  She enjoyed gardening, canning, embroidery work such as pillows, dishtowels, scarves, and activities at Oak Ridge Church. 
  Survivors include three children, Janice (James) Kelly of Crookston, Donna (fiancé, Don Harbott) Senum of Thief River Falls and Norma Jean (Hubert, Jr.) Garceau of Grand Forks, N.D.; nine grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; three step-great-grandchildren; brother, Raymond (Edna) Langaas of Kennewick, Wash.; sister-in-law, Mavis Langaas of Thief River Falls and other relatives and friends. 
 She was preceded in death by her husband; her parents; her sister, Ardell; brothers, Carl, Clarence and Harold; son-in-law, Edwin Senum and brother-in-law, Arnold LaValley. A00003B2005MY25
