St. Hilaire - Sharon Gilbertson, 64, died Thursday, March 14, 2013 in Fargo, N.D.
Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, March 23 at Johnson Funeral Service in Thief River Falls.
Visitation will be held from 5 to 8 p.m., with a 7:00 PM prayer service on Friday, March 22 at Johnson Funeral Service in Thief River Falls. Visitation will also be held from 1 to 2 p.m. on Saturday at the funeral home.
Sharon Lea Taylor Gilbertson was born Aug. 5, 1948 in International Falls to Donna and Sherman Taylor.  She graduated from Lincoln Senior High School in Thief River Falls in 1966.  She was married to Everett (Gil) Gilbertson and moved to Rochester. After her divorce, she moved back to St. Hilaire, where she met and fell in love with Gary Dargon. They have been together for 40 years.
Sharon did several jobs over the course of 40-plus years, including waitress, seamstress/linen assistant, clerk and meat cutter and elementary school cook.  She loved gardening, canning, dancing, cooking, sister weekends, travelling with Gary and her sisters, fishing, and spending time with family and friends. Many wonderful evenings were spent on deer rides, at their sugar shack and the casino or visiting with friends at the St. Hilaire Liquor Store.
Sharon is survived by siblings Joseph (Judy) Taylor, Allen (Michele) Taylor, Shirley Brown, Dawn (John) Noel, Diane (Greg) Bulger, Rick Taylor, Dennis Taylor, Frank Taylor, Barb (Rich) Drabant, John Patrick (Diane) Taylor and 36 nieces/nephews. She is also survived by her father Sherman’s children Helen Taylor Brunette, Ronda (Henry) Bates, Elizabeth (Jim) Howell, April Joy Taylor, LaVerna (George) Aurand and Lorraine (Sam) Slifer and sister-in-law Heidi Taylor & many more nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her parents Sherman, John and Donna Taylor and her brother Sherman D. Taylor Jr. (passed away June 1983).
