Bellevue, Wash. - Lyle S. Johnson died Saturday, Feb. 23, 2013 at the age of 82.
Lyle's life was celebrated on Tuesday, March 5, at Grace Lutheran Church in Bellevue, Wash.
Lyle was born in Thief River Falls, on Aug. 15, 1930. He was the son of Anna and Edward Johnson, and brother of Delores, Arlene, Jeanette, Betty, Judy, Sharon, Earl, Wayne, Larry, Don (deceased), and Jim (deceased).
Lyle grew up on the family farm, and after graduating from Lincoln High School in 1949, moved to Seattle to live with his Uncle Rudy and Aunt Evy Helgeson. He served in the U.S. Army from 1953 to 1955 in Glennallen, Alaska. After returning to Seattle, he owned the Red Onion Tavern from 1959 to 1996.
Lyle was married to his loving wife Judy for 51 years. He was hard-working, congenial with everyone, and loved his family above all else. His family respected him and will miss him deeply.
Lyle is survived by his wife Judy, his children Lorrie, Ron, and Tim Johnson, his two grandchildren Delaney and Tierney, and siblings Earl, Wayne, Larry, Delores Lokken, Arlene, Jeanette Olson, Betty Noto, Judy Schriver, and Sharon Benson.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Anna Johnson, and brothers Don Johnson and Jim Johnson.
