Arvada, Colo. - Dan Hogberg, 59, died Wednesday, Feb. 27, 2013.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, March 5 at Arvada Covenant Church in Arvada, Colo. Interment was held at Bethesda Cemetery in Newfolden.
Daniel Lowell Hogberg, the son of Lowell and the late Donna Mae (Lind) Hogberg, was born Sept. 10, 1953 in Karlstad. He was the oldest of four children. Dan attended school in Newfolden and graduated from Marshall County Central High School in 1971.
On Sept. 21, 1973, he was united in marriage to his high school sweetheart Peggy Ann Sustad at the Evangelical Covenant Church in Thief River Falls.
Dan accepted Christ as his personal savior at a young age and lived his life for the Lord. His life reflected his belief and faith, and he carried this with him in his marriage, family and all aspects of his life.
In 1973, Dan began his career in law enforcement as chief of police in Newfolden. In May 1974, he graduated with his law enforcement degree from the Bureau of Criminal Apprehension. He worked as a police officer in Warren from September to December 1975, then as deputy of the Marshall County Sheriff Department from December 1975 to April 1977. Following his career in law enforcement, Dan began worling within customer service for Frontier Airlines from April 1977 to May 1985. He continued his carrer in customer service for United Airlines beginning in October 1986 to present.
Survivors include his wife Peggy; son Corey (Anna) and grandson Cameron Corey of Thornton, Colo.; father, Lowell (Viola) Hogberg of Thief River Falls; mother-in-law Ruth Sustad of Thornton, Colo.; brothers David (Pamela) Hogberg of Sandstone, Myles (Judy) Hogberg of Newfolden; sister Marinell (Philip) Waterworth of Newfolden; great-aunts and great-uncle; several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews.
He was preceded in death by his mother, Donna Mae; maternal and paternal grandparents; and his father-in-law, Leroy Sustad.
