Gonvick - Constance Elona Reich, 73, of Gonvick, died peacefully on Sunday Feb. 24, surrounded by her loving family at Good Samaritan Nursing Home in Clearbrook.
Memorial services were held at Cease Family Funeral Home Chapel in Bagley, on Thursday, Feb. 28 at 10:30 a.m. with Father Dave Super officiating. Interment of cremains was held at the North Dakota Veterans Cemetery in Mandan, North Dakota. The Cease Family Funeral Home of Bagley assisted the family with arrangements.
Connie was born on July 15, 1939 in Winsor Township to Tommy and Ethel (Thorpe) Bolstad. Connie was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran faith. Connie grew up and attended school in the Gonvick area, as well as in Duluth. Their family returned to their family farm in rural Gonvick in 1965.
Connie was joined in marriage to James Reich on February 4, 1975. Connie and Jim made their home in Thief River Falls, and moved to Gonvick after Jim's retirement from the Soo Line Railroad in 1987.
Connie worked many jobs through out her life including owning and managing her own bar and restaurant as well as raising cattle, which she enjoyed the most. Connie had many interests in life including gardening, fishing and camping, photography, rosemaling, music, reading and most recently genealogy. Her greatest joy was spending time with her loving husband Jim and her family and friends. Connie had a great sense of humor and a wonderful laugh and will be dearly missed.
Connie is survived by brother-in-law Robert Winand of Crookston; sister-in-law Helen Reich of Bismark, N.D.; special nieces and nephews Sally Jo (Paul) Bergman, Clearbrook, Jennifer (Lyle) Mathison, Wahpeton, Sarah (Jake) Robertson, Bemidji, Carly and Erick and Emily Bergman, Clearbrook, Gary Sundquist, Crookston, Ethel (Larry) Shimpa, Erskine, Elaine (Jeff Jenson), Twin Valley, Evelyn (Bryan) Halvorson, Grand Forks, Valerie (Bryan) Smith, Hastings, Donald (Tracy) Winand, Brooks; Laura (Jeff) Sirockman of Kennewick, WA; and many more nieces and nephews too numerous to mention.
Connie was preceded in death by her infant son, Steven; loving husband Jim; her parents; her sister, Farrell Winand; brother and sister-in-law, Bobby and Donna Bolstad; sister and brother-in-law, Betty Lou and Dick Kruschke; sister and brother-in-law, Donnis and Lloyd Larson; sister and brother-in-law, Erin and John Seaweard.
