Newfolden - Beverly Pederson, 73, died on Saturday, Nov. 17, 2012 at Altru Hospital in Grand Forks, N.D., surrounded by her loving family.
Funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 21 (today) at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Newfolden. Interment will follow at Bethlehem Cemetery in New Solum Township, Marshall County. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church.
Beverly Ann Bakke was born on July 20, 1939 daughter of Magnus and Alice (Hall) Bakke. She was baptized on November 13, 1939 in Newfolden at the home of H.C. Haugen and was confirmed at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Newfolden. She graduated from Newfolden High School in the Class of 1957 and graduated from the Nursing program in Thief River Falls in 1958.
Bev went to work as a nurse at Northwestern Hospital in Thief River Falls. On June 15, 1963, she was united in marriage to Bertyl Pederson at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Newfolden. The couple farmed on the Pederson farm in New Solum Township, Marshall County, where they raised cattle and small grains. She went back to work at the hospital after the kids were in school and worked until retiring in 2001.
Bev enjoyed all means of shopping and shopped not only for herself but for her family…and things had to be even. She loved music and followed the Gaithers, she was a “Gaither Groupie.” Bev treasured her family and friends. She was a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Newfolden.
In the fall of 2011, she moved to Greenleaf in Thief River Falls.
Survivors include her loving daughters, Pam (Ole) Hockstedler and their children, Gage, Gavin and Grady, and Brenda (David) Larson and their children, Natalie, Rachel and Jessica all of Newfolden; son-in-law, Curt Hutchins and his children, Kia and Spencer of Shanghai, China; brother, David (Marge) Bakke of Newfolden; and many other relatives and friends.
She is preceded in death by her husband Bertyl in 1999; son, Brent in 1998; daughter, Nancy Hutchins in 2011; parents; and brother, Darrell in 2003.
