Thief River Falls - Brandon Niemi, 30, was lifted on angel’s wings and went home with his Lord and Savior on Friday, Oct. 19, 2012.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, Oct. 24 (today) at Redeemer Lutheran Church, Thief River Falls, with Rev. Mark Helgeland and Rev. Ben Carlsen officiating. Interment will follow at the Emardville Cemetery, Plummer.
Brandon Robert Clifford Niemi was born on June 22, 1982 at the Northwestern Hospital in Thief River Falls, the son of Robert and Sandra (Anderson) Niemi. On Aug. 22, 1982, he was baptized at Trinity Lutheran Church and later confirmed at Redeemer Lutheran Church, both in Thief River Falls. Brandon attended school at Lincoln High School, graduating in 2001.
Brandon had worked at Pamida in Thief River Falls and for the last eight years was employed at Arctic Cat.
He enjoyed biking, carpentry, art, fishing, snowmobiling, 4-wheeling, and customizing fishing rods – a hobby he became interested in after he and his brother, Jason, took a class together to learn the art.  Brandon spent many hours working on his yellow Dodge Ram truck and snowmobile.  One of his proudest accomplishments was completing a 14-hour bike trip from Thief River Falls to Bemidji in one day.
He had a special interest in the lives of his niece, Megan, and his nephews, Ashton and Quinn. Spending time with his family was something he really enjoyed. He was a kind-hearted person and would do anything for his family.
Brandon was very strong in his faith and was proud to show it.  He rarely missed church, where he loved to hear the message of the Lord and listen to the beautiful music.
“Depression is not a sign of weakness, it is a sign that you have been trying to be strong for too long.”
Brandon is survived by his parents, Bob and Sandy Niemi of Thief River Falls; sister and brother-in-law, Tammy and Kelly Klein of Grygla; brother and sister-in-law, Jason and Jessica Niemi of Bemidji; aunt, Tanna (Jack) McGarry of Torrance, CA; cousin, Lauren McGarry of Torrance, CA; nieces and nephews, Megan Niemi of Grygla, Keyton and Kia Klein, Ashton (also his godson), Quinn Niemi, Cayden Cullen, and Teagan Marsden.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Clifford Anderson and Eileen Anderson Cummings, and Alfred and Alfrieda Niemi; stepgrandfather, Elton Cummings; great-nephew, Rylin Marsden.
