Greenbush - Ernest Miller, 89, Greenbush, Minn. died on Thursday, April 28 at his home in Greenbush.
Funeral Services were held on Tuesday, May 3, at 2 p.m. at Bethel Lutheran Church in Greenbush, with Pastor Bryce Fellbaum, officiating. Casket bearers included Jerry Johnson, Dustin Lorenson, Kevin Langaas, Jason Black, Robert Nelson Sr. and Merlyn Wiskow. Honorary Bearers were his14 great-grandchildren. Interment was held at Bethel Cemetery in Greenbush.
Ernest Floyd Miller, the son of John H. and Pearl (Gorvin) Miller, was born February 12, 1916 in Greenbush. He lived in the Wannaska area before moving to Hereim Township, near Greenbush, with his parents. They later moved to Barnett Township. Ernie was baptized and confirmed in the Lutheran Faith.
He attended rural school and finished his education in the Greenbush School. He married Alice Anderson on December 25, 1940 in Bethel Lutheran Church of Greenbush. They farmed in Barnett Township where they raised livestock and small grains. He had a special love for his flock of sheep. He also worked for Polaris Industries for a short time. Ernie served on the School Board in Barnett Township for a number of years and was the Barnett Township Clerk for over 30 years. In 1995 they moved into Greenbush.
Survivors include his wife of 64 years, Alice; three daughters, Eunice (Marvin) McFarlane of Auburn, Wash., Paulette (Norbert) Johnson of Greenbush and Ardys (Roger) Lorenson of Greenbush; seven grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren; three sisters, Doris (Don) Wicklund of Greenbush, Lillian Kriko of Brush Prairie, Wash. and Dorothy Minske of Pengilly; two sisters-in-law, Carol and Adell Miller, both of Greenbush; and several nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one grandson; one great-grandson; brothers, Myron, Walter and Donald Miller and a brother Harry in infancy; brothers-in-law, Al Kriko and Clare Minske.
